Serene & Gavin’s wedding day started with a Traditional Chinese tea ceremony.. You can read more about Serene & Gavin’s wedding here and see some of my travel photo’s from my time in Singapore here.
Besides this being my first ever Chinese tea ceremony, it is also my first ever all black and white blog post.
Enjoy a little glimpse into Serene and Gavin’s wedding day!
Serene’s bridesmaids making wasabe filled cupcakes for Gavin and his groomsmen to eat as one of his ‘tests’…
It is tradition for the bride’s parents to put the veil over their daughters head before the groom comes to get her..
I would not cross these ladies.. they mean business!!
Gavin and his groomsmen enjoying wasabe filled cupcakes..
Another one of the boy’s tasks were to wax their legs!!
Gavin passed all the tests and was granted permission by his bride to enter the room and steal a kiss..
Then the tea ceremony began where the couple gave tea to all the bride’s close family..
The couple were blessed by the bride’s family with lots of special jewelry..
It is also tradition for the brides father to walk her to the car holding a red umbrella..
After a quick change into Seren’s traditional Cheong Sum.. it was time for the tea ceremony with the grooms family..
We then headed to the Carlton Hotel for a delicious dim sum lunch before the religious wedding which you can see here.
